Gooseneck Barnacles and Mussels
Clinging to the rocks are some seriously sharp characters. Prolific, these two invertebrates work in tandem covering every available space on the black volcanic rocks. The barnacles have sharp chalky coloured armour and keep their mouths shut at low tide (and their feet do the feeding!). The mussels display their bivalve shells in multiple colours and yes they are good eating.
