The Pacific Ocean picks up treasures in it's swell and carries them along currents and tides, and finally landing or crashing onto our shores. A rare treat is to spot an intact glass ball from Asia. Imagine something as delicate as hand blown glass floating and traveling for weeks, months, or even years. It survives landfall, and picked up off the beach.
